Oneworld Travel Yarm’s Assistance Manager – Anne-Louise – has just returned from a business trip to Dubai. Visiting some of the city’s most popular and prominent hotels, and many of the world-famous attractions, she’s ready to pass her destination knowledge straight onto you – our customers!
Anne-Louise’s Top Tips:
My personal recommendation would be to start your Dubai adventure off with the trip At the Top Burj Khalifa – The tallest building in the world. After soaring 828 meters above the ground, visit the highest observation deck with its outdoor terrace that offers 360-degree views of the city, desert and ocean.
Make sure you experience The Sundowner Dune Dinner Safari – a must for everyone, and especially great for couples and families. Head out to the desert in a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Start by taking in a falconry display, before heading onto the sand dunes for a thrilling dune drive. Enjoy a breathtaking desert sunset – a great photo opportunity. Then, to a Bedouin-style camp where awaiting you is traditional Arabian activities including camel rides, henna artists, belly dancer and star-gazing. Sumptuous Arabic mezzes and barbecue dinner is included.
My favourite hotel on The Palm is the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray – this hotel has a spectacular beachside location. The hotel has a lavish interior inspired by the palaces of the Ottoman period and offers beautiful views of the Dubai. The Talise Ottoman Spa is particularly special – they even have a snow room with real snow – anything is possible in Dubai!
If you’re travelling with teenagers, look no further than the Hotel Le Royal Meridien. This hotel has its own teenage studio – complete with a music area including guitars and drums, computer games, arcade, a chill out area and a soft drinks bar. The hotel boasts thirteen restaurants, three pools and a great location to get out and see the city. I recommend booking a Sea View Room – they are gorgeous!
After travelling to this wonderful city, you soon realise Dubai’s ambition is to be the biggest and best at everything – it really is a beautiful, sun-drenched city where anything is possible!
